Organza is a semi-transparent fabric primarily made from silk. It is light, soft and delicate and has a unique sheen to it. Organza is a sheer, semi-transparent and soft fabric with a slightly greasy surface. It is also known as china silk and is an ideal fabric for the production of sheer clothing and dresses. Organza is thought to have derived its name from the words 'organe' and 'gaze' which are respectively pronounced as 'organ' and 'gaze'.
